How To Create A Successful Money-Making Blog In 6 Simple Steps

How to create a successful money-making blog

The main goal of my blog was to share great content all while generating enough income to be able to stay at home with my family more. A lot of bloggers share this common goal and I am willing to offer to you all what I know about blogging and how to reach your full potential in 6 simple steps. Avoid the common mistakes made by newcomers and quickly become successful with your blog. I believe in helping one another to reach our goals, so that is what I plan on doing. Share the wealth right? Let’s begin with the first step to making a really successful money-making blog.

What is a blog without a place for it to exist?

Step 1 Choose a good webhosting site. There are a ton of them out there, but my personal favorite is Bluehost. With this hosting site I am able to use WordPress as my blogging platform and have 24/7 chat support if I have any questions at all.

When I was starting out I had no idea which hosting site to choose and I am so glad that I picked Bluehost because their chat support helped me immensely with all of the questions that I had. There are many other hosting sites you can pick from as long as you have somewhere for your website to call home.

WordPress is a massive platform for blogging and I would venture to say that the vast majority of bloggers prefer it due to its capabilities.

What are you an expert of?

Step 2- Choose a niche that best suits you. A niche is an area of expertise. From that niche come up with a name for your website and create your content based around that subject. You can always change this later, but for now come up with something specific that you could write forever about. You don’t want to pick something that you’re going to quickly grow bored with

Step 3 – Design your layout and theme. Spend some time on this part and make it pretty. Be sure to keep your blog presentable, avoid spelling and grammatical errors. Do not clutter up your blog with too many widgets, banners, or ads. People visiting your blog are interested in your content, not having ads thrown in their face 24/7. While it is absolutely fine to have some advertisements, you do not want to overdo it.

If people enjoy the value of your content they are more likely to click on your links and accept your recommendations for products. You must give in order to receive. Try not to include too many pop-ups in your blog as well. How many times have you been scrolling down a blog post and you get a pop-up that you exit out of? Then just when you think it was over there is another and another.

As a reader you are more than likely going to exit the page and forget all about it. Make sure your blog posts contain some pictures to break up your paragraphs a bit as well. You can get free stock photos from Pexels.com or create your own on Canva.

You must give before you receive.

Step 4 – Provide value. I mentioned before that you have to give in order to receive. This is so so true in the blogging world. You cannot expect people to click on your ads when there is absolutely no incentive to do so. People enjoy reading a blog full of content that answers their questions and gives them something they were looking for.

If you have an enticing headline like “How To Make A Million Dollars In One Week” you better provide. Now I am not saying that you need to tell people how to make a million dollars in a week, but I am telling you that if you are writing about something specific, your reader should get what they expect. Having an enticing title is a great way to get traffic, but if you provide some great content along with a great title, then you will be on your way to creating a successful money-making blog.

Shout it from the mountains!

Step 5 – Promote your blog. Using social media is a key tool to having a successful blog. People around the world use social media as a means to connect with others. If you are not promoting your blog on social media then you are automatically missing out on a key portion of your potential traffic.

You can even create ads on social media to target your key audience and receive even more traffic. Not to mention the blogging community is amazing. Feel free to connect with others and even ask to guest post on other blogs. This is a great way to gain experience and increase your reach to potential readers.

Step 6 – Monetize your blog. There are so many ways to do this, but don’t allow yourself to become overwhelmed. Find some affiliate companies to work with. Choose only a few to start out with so that you can provide quality content without stressing about how many companies you are working with.

Becoming an affiliate means that you will post ad links to their products on your website in exchange for a small commission when someone clicks or performs an action with them. Amazon is a popular affiliate company to work with along with many others. Be tasteful in the placement of your ads on your blog. Often a text link will suffice, but you can post picture links as well. Try not to post too many links in your blog post as mentioned in step 3.

I personally earn quite a bit from Amazon’s program and really enjoy being a part of it. If you have a lot of products you’d like to promote, Amazon can be a great asset!
